DVD Replication is the process of making DVD copies from a glass master and is the best method for quantities over 500 copies. Duplication is the process of making copies by "burning" them and is ideal for "short-run" projects of under 500 copies. About the DVD Replication Process DVD Replication is the plant process of transferring your DVD master content to a super smooth glass master. The data is transfered to the master using a state-of-the-art laser production system. The final glass master is used to create the metal stamper that is used to press your DVD project. The stampers "press" your DVD content onto molten polycarbonate plastic, producing plastic rings containing your content. From there the discs are topped with a thin layer of aluminum and a coating of lacquer is applied. After the DVDs are pressed, they are transfered to a station where your artwork is silk-screened to the disc face. |
